SEND Bradford Youth Summit - City HallFebruary 2026
10 students with SEND attended Bradford’s first Youth Summit, an event that brought together students from different schools across Bradford to share their views on issues affecting young people and their communities, including key themes of inclusion, accessibility and transport. Students were joined by guests and representatives from the council and SEND services.
During the summit, students took part in workshops and group discussions where they explored topics such as emotional wellbeing, mental health, and challenges faced by young people. They worked together to analyse information, discuss possible solutions, and present ideas for improving support for students in schools.
The summit also gave them the chance to meet other young people, listen to speakers, and ask questions to professionals and decision-makers. As a result, students develop skills such as teamwork, leadership, and public speaking, while also gaining confidence and a stronger understanding that their voices and experiences can help shape positive changes in their schools and communities.
