We are a School of Sanctuary

We have some really exciting news to share! Co-op Academy Grange is a School of Sanctuary. This is a special award that shows how our school is a welcoming and safe place for everyone, especially for refugees and people seeking a safe home.
What Does This Mean for Our School?
Being a School of Sanctuary isn't just about getting an award; it's about being a kind and welcoming community. It means we want to make sure that everyone who comes to our school feels at home, no matter where they are from.
This includes:
-
Making Our School a Safe Haven: We want our school to be a place where everyone feels secure and respected.
-
Celebrating Different Cultures: We're excited to learn about the different backgrounds, languages, and experiences that students and families bring to our school. This makes our community richer and more interesting.
-
Helping Each Other: We will work to help new students and their families feel welcome and help them settle in.
-
Learning to Understand: We will learn more about why people become refugees and what it's like to leave your home and start over. This helps us be more understanding and empathetic.
Living Our Values
This project is a perfect example of our school's values in action. We are:
-
Doing What Matters Most: We are focusing on making sure every person feels cared for and included.
-
Being Yourself, Always: We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident being who they are.
-
Showing You Care: This is a big way we can show kindness and support to people who need it.
-
Succeeding Together: When we welcome everyone, we all learn and grow together as a community.
We are so proud to be on this journey to become a School of Sanctuary. We believe that by opening our doors and our hearts, we make our school and our community a better place for everyone.
