Welcome from Co-op Academy Grange

Welcome to our latest newsletter. It is a real joy to share with you all the wonderful things happening within our academy community.

At Co-op Academy Grange, we believe that every one of our children deserves a brilliant education, no matter their background. Our goal is to help your children succeed not just in their lessons, but in life. To do this, we encourage our children to live by four simple values that help us build a kind and successful school.

Year 7 English – Miss Dyer

Please ensure homework booklets are completed and returned to English lessons every Friday.

Students will be completing Week 4 this week, and it is due on the 7th May.

Attendance – Miss Bailey

We would like to invite you and your partner or other family members to an ‘attendance awareness workshop’.

This would be a 90-minute session at Coop Academy Grange.

During this session we will explore with you some key information and activities which may be useful to you and your family in improving attendance.

The workshop includes;

  • Attendance truths & myths

  • What do the codes mean?

  • Too ill to attend? What can be authorised and unauthorised absences?

  • How to manage teenage emotions around school.

  • Problem-solving and signposting to key services who could help.

This is the first time we have run such a workshop at Grange and we are inviting over 200 parents to attend. However, we will limit each workshop to 20 parents at a time.

Every parent who attends will receive a £10 Amazon voucher as a thank-you. All parents who attend the workshop will be entered into a prize draw for £50 restaurant vouchers.

Refreshments will be provided, and we promise to make it relaxed and not too much like school!

We would love for you to come along and give this a try.

Please complete the Google form below, selecting the best possible time and date you would be able to attend.

We will be running the sessions weekly, so there are plenty of options for you to attend.

You only need to attend 1 session.

Please complete the invitation form https://forms.gle/ruURm6V3kqL7yvmB8

We very much hope to see you at the workshop.

Royal Society Book Awards  28th April

The students who have completed the Royal Society Book Awards scheme were awarded their certificates this week to thank them for their participation.

Most of the group have asked if we can continue to meet and complete some more of the book challenges and tasks and further their science knowledge. We are going to focus on ecology, recycling and timelines.

Please find attached information to share with your parents regarding an online Parent Support Group which is run by the Bradford and Craven NHS Mental Health Support Team. The online support sessions are held over Microsoft Teams and are facilitated by mental health practitioners. The sessions encourage parents/carers participation - providing a safe space for them to share experiences, build positive relationships and receive peer support. Alongside this, the parents will receive useful information and strategies around the chosen monthly topic. Please could you share this information with your parents via any social media platforms/ Newsletters and your School website that you feel are appropriate? If you feel this is something that your parents would not benefit from, please notify us and we will remove your school address from the flyer distribution list. Thank You Kind regards
