Curriculum Accessibility
Throughout our curriculum, we make changes to support all our students.
For our students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities or other needs through the Equality Act of 2010 we’ll provide the following:
- Teachers will give work that fits the needs of each student
- Curriculum Leaders will make sure that their part of the curriculum can be accessed by all students at some level
- Students with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) are first priority for support by a Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
- For students with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), we’ll make sure they get the support detailed in Section F of their plan. This section tells us the support a student needs.
- In Key Stage 4, we have an entry level ASDAN life skills course. This is for students who need a nurturing environment with the core subjects.
- Students who are at risk of not passing mathematics, English and science will change to the Entry Level Qualifications in these subjects.
